CITY OP EVERETT SPU li10-81
FIRE STATION 1/6
9. Participation in the cost to fund the South End Interceptor is required.
The approximate cost based on the preliminary information provided is
$673 +$0.213 x office sq. ft., as of October 5, 1981. The actual cost
shall be computed by the Building Department per the ordinance in
effect at the time and according to the information provided on the
approved plans on the date of permit issuance.
l0. Drainage calculations must be submitted. If the calculations, after
review by the Engineering Department, indicate a need for 250 cu. ft.
of storage or less, on-site detention will not be required. If more than
250 cu. ft. of storage is needed, there will be an option of making a
payment to the City's drainage capital improvement fund in lieu of on-
site detention.
l l. All exposed ground must be reseeded within 30 days of the completion
of road construction. If building activity commences within 30 days of
the completion of road construction, reseeding will not be required. If
reseeding is not practical due to weather or seasonal problems, the
ground will be covered as directed by the City Engineer.
l2. A fire hydrant must be installed w;thin 200 feet of the proposed
structure.
13. A spokesman for the Applicant testified that all emergency access from the
proposed structure will be off of Evergreen Way in order to reduce any
impact to the surrounding area.
14. There will be no traffic control signals by the fire station but there will be
emergency control signals.
15. A letter was received and admitted as part of the record in support of the
construction of the fire station at the proposed site.
16. A letter was received and admitted as part of the record in opposition to the
development of the site for a fire station. The basis of the opposition was
that the City would have to acquire additional right-of-way for the
construction of the property, property values will lower and that the
construction of the police reporting office wiil create a totally dangerous
neighborhood.
17. A spokesman for the Applicant testified that no additional right-of-way will
be needed to construct tlie fire station and that there will not be an increased
danger to the nearby neighborhoods as a result of the fire station and police
station going in.
13. Testimony was received from a spokesman for tlie ,4pplicant that there would
not be a jail housed on the subject site but that it would merely be used as a
police reporting station.
19. There was no testimony received in support or in opposition to the
application.
-4-
