I
r
L
Will Stocking
Cctober 19, 1984
page 2
sheathing above. The floor sheathing is to be nailed to
t'le joist per the structural notes. The joist is to be
toenailed to tle top plate with 16d at 8" O.C. both sides.
5. The 6x6 post supporting the 3-2xl2 header at the new high
roof over the main entrance must be more adequately
attached to the existing GLB below. The attachment must
be capable of resisting an uplift force of 1500 pounds.
6. The existing decking must be strapped to the new roof
sheathing, at blocking or roof joists, with ST 2115 at
48" O.C.
7. 2-2x6 roof joist at 24" O.C. is acceptable in lieu of 2x6
at 16" O.C. called out on plans at the low roof Just south
of the existing roof overhang.
B. Add parabolts to the bottom plate of SW-1, located
approximately six feet west of the east exterior wall and
paralell to this wall.
9. It was ncted that SW2, which aligns with SW5, located
approximately 18 feet west of SW5 is a low wall and cannot
be included in the building stability analysis.
10. It appears that the CC 5-1/4 - 4 called for in Section 3O
can be omitted if the 5-1/8" wide GLB bears fully on a
6x6 post and is securely strapped to the post.
11. As you requested, we are investigating moving the bearing
wall designated as SWl and located approximately nine feet
west of the east exterior wall.
If you have any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
Gary M.
