Driscoll Land Use Hearing Examiner 3002 Wetmore City Hall Everett WA 98201 RE: APPLICATION OF EVF.RE'T SDA CHURCH FOR APPROVAL OF A SPECIAL PROPERTY USE PERMIT Dear Mr. Driscoll: This letter is to answer paragraphs 14, 15, and 16 of the Findings of Fact, and paragraph 17 of the Decision. Paragraph 14: Chief Al Langton,of the Fire Department,states there has been no slippage or erosion in the area of the Forest Park fire station. He states that since the building was built in 1947, the only problem has been that the building has settled four inches due to the fact that it was built on a fill consisting mainly of grass clippings and branches. He further states that it is a good solid building and will continue in use for an indefinite period. Chief Langton also states there has been no problem with waterline breaks in that area. Mr. Dan Mathias, Mr. Ken Sprecker of Public 'Aorks,and Mr. Wall'of the Water Department state there have been no waterline breaks in the area of Blocks 5 and 6 of Swalwells 3rd Addition which is the subject property. Mr. Wall says the only break in a water main has occurred on 39th west of Federal which is more than eight hundred feet north of the northern property line of subject property. They also state there has been no slippage on the subject property. Paragrath 15: You have in your file a copy of a soils study done on subject property in 1980 when a proposed condominium complex was being considered by property owners. Paragraph 16: Dr. Harold Fey, one of the owners of subject property, states there has been no fill at any time on the property and no grading for at least 10 years, and no erosion on the property.
