August 20, 1980, in the Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, President Overstreet presiding. Upon roll call. it was found that all Councilmen were present except Councilman Aldcroft. Mayer Moore was excused. Minutes -of the meeting held August 13, 1990 were approved as printed. COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT C President Overstreet said he had received a requ_st from the Mayor to appoint two'Council members to the Consultant Selection Committee for the Southwest Everett Sewer Interceptor System. He asked any Councilmen wishing to serve -on this -committee to please let him know. AGENDA ADD -ON' Brad'Cattle, City Attorney, asked for a first reading of an ordinance to place ,...the 25C EMS Levy on the ballot November 4th as a special City election. Shoul. the.Council decide to do this after their workshop by having first reading at this meeting, final reading would be in time for.the cut-off deadline for the November election. LUTHL.;.CHILD CENTER Henry Newton, President of the Luther Child Center,'requested'the council to waive the power of attorney for the 555 Improvement in connection with their building on Federal Avenue. John Patzold of the Building Department said that he had researched this, and Planning Commission Minutes of February 13th concurred in the Special Property- Use Permit but recommended that Item No. 4 of the conditions be deleted. This :Condition had to do with the power of attorney for the 555 Improvement. Throu an oversight, this item had not been deleted from the conditions when it was .placed before the Council for their concurrence. Therefore, the Council attic: had.been to concur in the Special Property Use Permit suiject to all of the cc. :'ditions as set forth. In reviewing the Planning Commission meetings, it was very clear that they had recommended to eliminate the necessity for the 555 Improvement. Moved by Councilman Pope, seconded by Councilman Michelson to concur with the Planning Commission's recommendation and waive the power of attorney for 555 Improvement for the Special Property Use Permit for Luther Child Center. Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes.except Councilman Aldcroft who was absent. Motion Carried PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGCOMPLAINT Matthew O'Hare, of 1809h Rainier, complained of certain intersections as far a: pedestrian crossing problems. Hugh Darren said that these signal lights are -being corrected and these crossings should be in good order shortly.
