Ivlanholes, catch basins, and inlets shall be constructed of pre-cast units in accurdance with the
, following Standard Ylans:
Item Section
Manholes 605A-C
Catch Basins 402 through 404
Inlets 401
' Steps and I.rdder 606, 606A
, Frames and Grates 405 through 409
 2. Catch basin (or manhole) diameter shafl be deterntined by pipe size and orientation at the unction
structure. A plan viev of the junction structure, drawn to scale, will be required when more tan four
pipes enter the strucwre on the same plane, or if angles of approach and clearance betveen pipes is of
; concem. The plan viev (and sections if necessary) must insure a minimum solid conerete wall distance
betwecn pipe openings of 3 mches for 48 inch and 54 inch catchbasins and 12 inches for 72 inch and 96
inc:i catch basins.
3. Catch basin evaluation of structural integrity for H-20 loading may be required for multinle junction
 catch basins and other structures.
 4. Catch basins shall be provided within 50 feet of the entrance to a pipe system ro provide far silt and
 debris removal.
l 5. HDPE pipe systems loner than 100 feet must be secured at the ustream end and the dovnstream end
must be placed m a 4 Poot section of the next larer pipe size. This sliding sleeve connection accounts
for the high thermal expansion/contraction coefficient of this pipe material.
I
6. The maximum slopc of thc ground surface for a radius of 5 feet around a catch basin a ate shall be 3:1.
i
 7. A Type II catch basin or a manhole shall Ue required vhen thc depth to the flow-line exceeds 55 feet,
regardless of the pipe size.
8. Alf Type II catch Uasins and all manholes shall be equipped with ladders per Standard Plan No. 606 or
606A.
9. A Type II catch basin shall be installed as the last collector in the public right-of-vay prior ro discharge
to the combined sanitary sever.
10. A catch basin or manholc ill bc required at II changes in srorm drain diameter and changes in rade
or alimmcnt.
 srnmniais a-
( Rc..a102
(
