These Best Management Practices (BMPs) are designed to help preveni air, water <br /> and soil contamination that can result from maintenance, repair, and other activltfes <br /> associated with boats. All boat owners and independent contractors pertortning work on <br /> boats in the marinalboatyard facility shall comply with the Port of Everett Marina <br /> Regulations, Policies, and Procedures, and BMPs. Copies are available at the South <br /> Marina Office. <br /> The following BMPs must be familiar to all facility users, and shall be followed. Many <br /> are summarized from the following seclions of the Port of Everett Marina Regulations, <br /> Policies and Procedures manual: <br /> ✓ Disposal of wastes from vessel operalions [Part II, Section C]. <br /> ✓ Waste oli disposal practices [Part III, Section E]. <br /> ✓ Storage of materials at facilities [Part III, Sectlon G]. <br /> ✓ Vessel maintenance alfowed in marina beAhs[Part III, Section O]. <br /> ✓ Fueling of vessels [Part III, Section R]. <br /> ✓ Vessel owner responsibility for preventing water pollution <br /> [Part XIII, Section C]. <br /> ✓ Prohibition on Port employee assistance in maintenance and repair activilies <br /> [PaR XIII, Section D]. <br /> ✓ Responsibilities of the vessel owner with regard to maintenance pertormea ;n the <br /> boatyard [Part XIV., Section B]. <br /> Failure to properly follow ihese BMPs and lhe Marina Regulations may result in <br /> suspension of facilfty use privileges, vessel impoundment, cleanup costs and/or fines. <br /> General <br /> 1. Ttiese BMPs will be posted al locations around the marina and at the boalyard and <br /> hauloui. Users of the boalyard and haulout must check in al ihe South Marina OKce <br /> to recefve instructions and Best Management Practices before Iirst using the <br /> facilities. Marina users will receive copies when they lease their slip. Additional <br /> copies of BMPs and Marina Regulations are available at the South Marina Office and <br /> in ihe mailbox located at the entrance to tlie Port of Evorett work yard. Questions <br /> about Ihese BMPs should be brought to the South Marina office. <br /> 2. Any fac(Ifty user who soes anolher individuai violating lhese BMPs or lhe Marina <br /> Reguiations is encouraged lo report the violation to the South Marina Office or Port <br /> of Everett staff member as soon as possible. <br /> Maintenance <br /> 3. Haulout facilily users must ensure that all gear and equipment in tlie boat is secured <br /> againsl lurcliing or swinging of lhe hoat prior to liit. Materials stored on the boat <br /> shoitld similarly be secured from spilling. <br /> ?_ <br />
