4. Ground tarps musi be used at all times in the Port work yard to control the release of <br /> dust, sandings, chemical spills, and other residues. These tarps should be swept or <br /> vacuumed daily. <br /> 5. Paint sanded, scraped, or otherwise removed from boals shall be prevented from <br /> contaminating the soil or becoming airbome. If necessary to prevent dust, etc. from <br /> becomfng airbome, draping the boat with visquine or tarps is required. <br /> 6. Users of the boatyard and marina facilities are responsible for properiy disposing of <br /> paint chips. Paint chips may be disposed of in marina or boalyard tresh dumpsters. <br /> 7. No boat-bottom washing is allowed in the boatyard. <br /> 8. Boaryard areas must be kept neat and clean at all times. No open containers or oily <br /> equipment should be stored exposed to the we�ther, but should be stored under <br /> cover(inside boats or under tarps). Port facility personnel will periodically inspect the <br /> mar(nalboatyard faciliry to ensure clea�liness. The area around the boat must pass <br /> inspection prior io launch. <br /> 9. Sand blasting or power spraying of any abrasive grit or substance is prohibited. <br /> 10. No spray painling Is allowed in the Port's marina/boatyard facility. <br /> 11. Drip pans, tarps or ofher devices shall be used during the transieMng of oil, solvents, <br /> paints, contaminated bilge water, and during pafnt mixing. <br /> 12. In-water cleaning of underv✓ater portions of the hull by divers or other means is <br /> prohi6ited. <br /> 13. Containers of paint, thinners or similar malerials: <br /> ✓ No containers of paint, thinners or similar materials larger than 5 gallons shall be <br /> allowed in the boatyarti or on marina piers. <br /> ✓ All such containers must have lids that are capable of being sealed lo prevent <br /> spillage during transpori. <br /> ✓ Paints and solvents shall not be mixed on floats or small boats. <br /> ✓ Painting is prohibited from small boats or floats <br /> ✓ Any paint spilled shall be handled as an oil spill. <br /> 14. Before removing machinery (rom a vessel in the boatyard, all open fittings shall be <br /> sealed lo prevenl leakage of lubricating and cooling fluids. Through-hull fiHings shall <br /> similarly be sealed lo prevenl leakage of contaminated bilge water. <br /> 15. Biodegradable deterc�ents and cleaning compounds used for washing boats by hand <br /> above ihe waterline shall be used sparingly. <br /> � <br /> 3 <br />
