Thc native soils underlying
the site consist of inedium dense to dense glacial outash sand, and are suitable for
comentional residential foundation dcsign and construction procedures.
"I'he steep slope ithin the cstern part of Ute site is stceper than 40 percent and is
underlain by glacial advnce ouhvash sand (Qva). and it thereforc meets the City of Gverett
criteria for a geologically hazardous arca, bo!h as a landslide hazard area and an erosion
hazard 1rea. The top of the10 percent slope ispprosimatelshown on Pigure 2. I3ased on
!hc indinatiun ofthc slope and the character ofthc soils underlying the slope it is our opinion
that tbis stcep slopc is pmsently stable. but thnt it is susceptible to erosion or shallow debris
slides if disturbed by construction or other activities.
Thc proposed addition is located approximately 4 fcet or more from the top of the steep
slope, and is on the opposite side of thc esisting housc Gom thc slope. It is our opinion that
this distancc and Ioction is sufficicnt to avoid impacts to the geologically hazardous ama
and that no eeologic hazardsvill result from the proposed deelopment either within the site
or on am- adjacent propertics.
CLOSURE
'Ihc scriccs describcd in this report ere prepared imder the responsiblc charge of
Don.id v. r,s, a geologist as defined by GMC 19.4.
