As pnncipal of this school, I have several concerns <br /> about the location of such a facility: <br /> 1, Jetterson Elementary School is a large (545) school with <br /> • numerous walkers. There are not adequate raised cement sidewalks to <br /> maintain the necessary safe walking pattems at this point I believe that <br /> addlUonal vehicular trattic would only increase the risk of accider�. We j <br /> 0 have over 50 students walking on EI Capitan and proceeding along <br /> feeder roubes. Addidonally, elementary age students do not perceive the <br /> movemerd of cars in the same manner as adults,this is also an important <br /> tactor to consider. <br /> 2 A park and ride facility would also increase the number of individuals <br /> 1 who would view these large numbers af automobiles with an eye toward <br /> l4 I criminal intenL Again, this preseMs an addmonal riskwhen considered <br /> near an elementary school. <br /> 3. It should also be noted that the issue of a park and ride was discussed at <br /> 7� l4 I one of our Jetterson PTA Board meetings.
