Zirnng PropelP 94-/1-10
Ererett, IVnshinginn
fet below the ground surface, we encountered a light brown to gray Sand. 1'his
sand was medium dense towards the top of the strata and became dense with depth.
This material was fine- to coarse-grained and contained small amounts of gravel. At
the location of TP-2, we encountered approximately 0.5 feet of topsoil. Below this
and to a depth of 4.0 feet below the ground surface, we encountered the same light
brown, loose to medium dense lens of Sand that we encountered at the surface in
TP-l. This layer did not contain any roots and did contain some occasional cobbles.
Below this we encountered a light brown to gray Sand. This material was fine- to
coarse-grained, contained a trace of silt and gravel and was dense to very dense.
The material became cemented with depth, and the test pit hole was terminated at
14.0 feet below the ground surface due to the hardness of the material. TP-3 was
excavated at the approximate level of the proposed driveway landing. While
excavating this test pit, we encountered fill over the native topsoil layer. These two
strata's extended to a depth of 4.0 feet below the ground surface. Mr. Zvang
indicated that this fill is the result of a grubbing operation on the site in the past to
get rid of blackberry bushes. After the bushes were grubbed, the 611 material was
buried in the lower sections of the project site. Beneath the fill and topsoil, we
encountered the same light brown, loose to medium dense Sand layer that we
encountered in TP-1 and TP-2. This layer extended down to a deptli of 8.0 feet
below the ground surface. Below this strata and extending to the bottom of the test
pit at 17.0 feet, we encountered a gray, medium dense to dense Sand. This material
contained a trace of silt and gravel and became cleaner and more dense with depth.
We encountered a 3A foot diameter boulder at 13.0 feet below the ground surPace.
6 ccs, «.
