9l-12-/0
Zrnng Properh
Errm(f, Nnshing(ort
Mackey Smith consists of Esperance Sand (Qe). A copy of the Geologic Map for
this area is contained in Appendix D of this report.
3.3 Site Stratiraphv
Site stratigraphy has been interpreted from the soil information collected from our
test pits and correlated with the mapped geology of the area. Based on the
conditions encountered during the excavation of our test pits, we believe that there
is a fair correlation between the soil found on this site and those shown on the
Geologic Mnp.
All soil was logged and classified as it was removed from the ground. Copies of the
Test Pit Logs are contained in Appendix E of this report. Soil descriptions on the
logs follow the Un fed Soi/ Classifrcation fornat. A copy of this classitication is
contained in Appendix F of this report.
A total of 3 test pits were excavated witl a bacl:hoe at the project site. The
approximated locations of these test pits are shown on the Site Map contained in
Appendix B. In general, the soil conditions found in all three holes was very
similar. In TP-1 we encountered 3.0 feet of a loose to medium, light brown, loose
to medium dense Sand at the surface. This material was fine- to medium-gained,
was mottled and contained a few roots associated with the small trees growing
within this area. Below this strata and extending to the bottom or our test pit at 12
5 GES, /r.
,
