.... Zwnug Raperh, 9d-12-l0
Ererert, IVnsHingtou
4.7 Run-off Drainae and Erosion Control Considerations
. Due to the permeable nature of the surficial soil that is present in all of the site, run-
off will be limited except during heavy rainfall. During heavy rainfall, some sheet
flow may occur. Adequate erosion/siltation control measures should be installed
during construction activities to control off-site siltatiot. These control measures
should include any applicable combination of the following methods; siltation
fences, controlled drainage through the construction area, run-off filtration through
straw bales and limiting clearing and disturbance of the surficial soil outside of the
immediate construction area.
The limits of clearing of vegetation should be limited to the footprint of the house
and driveway prism to help limit erosion and/or sedimentation. Areas of sand that
are left unprotected will erode easily. It is very important to insure that the slope
, remains vegetated or covered at all times. If any of the vegetation on the slope is
stripped during construction or is eroded during a lieavy storm event, it should be
replace by a dense, fast growing ground cover and/or covered witli a heavy plastic.
Due to the characteristics of the soil on this site, we would expect infiltration into
any deep surficial drainage or utility system to be higli during extended periods of
wet weather. However, we do not anticipate that pwnping will be necessary due to
the high penneability rates within the sand. If construction takes place during the
dry season, we vould eapect that seepage into the trenches would be negligible.
j GES, /nc.
