Zrnng Prnpertp 94-12-10
Erere(t, WnsGinglon
In planning .he site grading and location for the proposed residence, grades should
be set so tliat water does not collect adjacent to the residence. [nstead, the ground
should be sloped downward away from the structure so that runoff may be carried to
a suitable discharge point. The base of all foundations and retaining walls should be
protected from seepage or ground water by perforated pipe at the base elevation.
The perforated drain pipe should be totally surrounded by at least 6 inches of
washed gravel. this foundation drain system should be installed to discharge via
tightline by gravity to a suitable discharge point at the base of the site slope. Roof
and surface runoff should not discharge into the footing drain system. Instead, a
separate tightlined drain system should be used and directed away from the
structure. We recommend that all drainage systems be tight-lined down to the curb
elevation.
4.8 Cuts and Excavntions
All eacavations should conforni to applicable sections of the Washington State
laws, WAC 296-155-650,655,660 and 665. For this project, all temporary
e:cavations and/or slopes less than four (4) feet in depth in undistwbed native soil
will stand in near vertical cuts for short periods of time. Any excavations of cuts in
temporary excavations and/or slopes greater than four (4) feet in depth should be
laid back to a maximum slope of 1 H:l V unless physically retained by use of a
diing box or other suitable metliods. All permanently exposed slopes should be
protected by a dense ground cover or grass.
17 GES, /nc.
