It also
aUpears likely that this final lift of pavement will be in place prior ro building permit
availability and subsequent construction activity by ARCO's contractor. A remote
possibility exists that the final lift will not be in place at the time ARCO's contractor is
aUle ro make to make the connection, in which case the open cut and connection will be
made by ARCO forces.
For the intent of our designs, we will assume that a bore will be necessary
and will reflect the necessary design on our improvement drawings accordingly for your
final approval. As earlier discussed, Tri-State Construction was approached about boring
the street on our behlf and indicated that a borine coull not be donr, hecause of the
high potential for conflict wi[h exis[ing utility pipes lyi.g in this area. Having reviewed
our proposed side sewer crossing design and the relationship ro as-buil[ utility pipes, you
indicated that the city would have no problem in allowing a boring to occur for this
activity. 1Ve would appreciate a short written response ro our office which confirms the
city's approval for subject boring and which also outlines any additional permits required
for this work. In that this activity will be shown on the improvement plans submitted
for building permit, we are not certain whether or not a PuUlic 1Vorks Permit for the
side sewer crossing would still be required.
6625 South 1901h, # 102 • Kent, Washington 98032 •(206) 872-5522
