` t, ' � <br />GENERAL CHECKLIST FOR <br />COMMERCIAL DAYCARE � .:.;�� ���� � <br />�OVER 6 CHILDR <br />Occuaancv Load Requirements <br />;� <br />➢ 35 square feet per occupant (daycare use areas). <br />➢ 100 square feet per occupant (administrative areas). <br />➢ Fire alarms systems required over 3,000 square feet (gross area). <br />➢ Automatic sprinkler system required over 6,000 square feet (gross area). <br />➢ Daycare use allowed on ground floor only (some exceptions depending on configuration). <br />Exitinq Requirements <br />� Two exits required if occupant load of �iaycare use exceeds seven. <br />� Exits required to be accessible (an area of evacuation assistance may be substituted for one <br />accessible exit.) <br />➢ Panic hardware required on exit doors serving over 50 occupants. <br />D Exit signs over exit doors. <br />Parkina Requirements <br />i One parking space per each 10 children or one employee (whichever is greater). One parking <br />space must be van accessible. <br />: One loading space for each 20 children. <br />Permit Requirements <br />: Building permit for review and documentation of compliance for change of use. <br />➢ Special Property Use Permit (Planning Depar:ment).
