Task 641. On-Site Geotechnical Inspections <br /> Objective. To support the GC/CM Contractor and the City by observing and monitoring the installation of <br /> foundation piles for the Phase A EWPCF project. <br /> Approach. The Consultant will secure the services of a qualified Subconsultant to perform the following <br /> activities: <br /> 1. Perform a WEAP analysis on the pile and Contractor's pile driving equipment to establish <br /> the required penetration resistance for adequate bearing capacity. <br /> 2. Observe initial driving and re-tapping of test piles (the first 4 to 6 piles driven) to determine <br /> pile setup. <br /> 3. Monitor driving of foundation piles,recording blow counts and other pertinent information, <br /> and looking for any indications of pile damage or unusual soil conditions. <br /> 4. Evaluate the records of driven piles and verify that they are capable of carrying their design <br /> capacity. <br /> These activities assume that pile driving will take an estimated 48 days to complete. In the event that <br /> unforeseen conditions such as pile damage or variable site conditions require additional analyses, these <br /> additional services will be performed in accordance with the Agreement. <br /> Products.
