• s <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5337 /gio%14,gLam <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing special services fares <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit and its predecessors have provided uninterrupted transit <br /> service to the citizens of Everett for 110 years; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit is a full-service transit agency, able to consider and respond <br /> to customer requests in a timely fashion; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Station is a regional multi-modal facility well positioned to support <br /> special events parking; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit has received multiple requests to develop special events <br /> services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit recognizes that it can provide flexible and responsive service <br /> to meet the dynamics of community-based event demand; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit recognizes its role in the economic development of the City <br /> by developing and providing services tailored to specific customer requirements; and <br /> WHEREAS, special events services and tailored services are consistent with Everett <br /> Transit's mission statement to provide viable alternatives to the single occupant vehicle <br /> to help mitigate the effects of traffic congestion; and <br /> WHEREAS, transit services other than scheduled fixed route service must comply with <br /> Federal Transit Administration requirements for cost recovery; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett Transit desires to introduce potential customers to its services <br /> through special events services; and <br /> WHEREAS, a fare policy that allows the City to establish fares and services tailored to <br /> the specific requirements of special events would help facilitate timely responses to <br /> customer requests. <br /> 1 <br />
