Comprehensive Transit Service Plan <br /> EVERETT TRANSIT Executive Summary <br /> Public Transit <br /> To support public accessibility, and as a principal tool for ensuring long-term <br /> sustainable growth in Everett, Everett Transit will maximize its potential as a cost- <br /> efficient and viable transportation option for citizens, employees, businesses and <br /> visitors seeking local and regional access and will continue to meet the needs of the <br /> transportation disadvantaged through paratransit and fixed-route services. <br /> ❑ ET provides transit services that are cost effective, safe and reliable <br /> ❑ ET provides transit services that provide easy connections with regional <br /> transportation services <br /> ❑ ET maintains full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. All <br /> its vehicles are lift-equipped and ET provides complementary paratransit <br /> services to all ADA-eligible riders <br /> Travel Flow Management <br /> To increase mobility and decrease traffic congestion in support of events and <br /> emergencies in the City, Everett Transit will maximize the value and benefit of <br /> existing transportation facilities and infrastructure and develop new, innovative <br /> programs to increase capacity and downtown travel flow. For example, ET will <br /> provide travel flow management programs in support of community events and <br /> emergencies. <br /> Transportation Management Programs <br /> To support on-going City development and growth management, Everett Transit will <br /> oversee, manage or otherwise support transportation demand and mobility <br /> management programs that fulfill City of Everett Comprehensive Plan polices and <br /> goals to mitigate traffic congestion, limited parking and air pollution. <br /> ❑ ET implements, manages or oversees the City's transportation demand <br /> management polices and programs. <br /> ❑ ET, in partnership with other city departments as appropriate, represents <br /> the city in all regional activities that relate to transportation demand <br /> management <br /> ❑ ET works with downtown employers to develop transportation demand <br /> management programs to decrease parking demand <br /> Commute Trip Reduction (CTR)Regulatory Compliance <br /> To support employers and economic development ET will fulfill regulatory <br /> requirements of State and City CTR Law and will establish a system of employer <br /> transportation services to assist existing Everett-based businesses in complying with <br /> State and City Commute Trip Reduction requirements, help create a competitive <br /> advantage for businesses seeking to locate in Everett and assist existing businesses <br /> become more competitive. <br /> ❑ ET takes a leadership role in working with Everett employers who are <br /> CTR participants.
