EXHIBIT A J
SCOPE OF WORK (CONTINUED)
SCOPE OF WORK
The following is a draft scope of work for this phase of the project.
TASK 1 — PROJECT MANAGEMENT
KPFF will manage the design team. This effort will include the following:
• Administer and manage a multidisciplinary design team.
• Project invoicing.
• Arrange, attend, and prepare meeting notes for 4 project coordination meetings
with the City of Everett.
• Arrange and prepare meeting notes for 2 design workshops.
• Track project progress and update project schedules.
• Prepare project progress reports.
• Prepare project design and construction schedule.
TASK 2— DESIGN CRITERIA DOCUMENT
KPFF will prepare the design criteria development based on contributions from a variety
of disciplines, including structural and civil engineering:
Civil design criteria that will be addressed in the basis of design will include:
• Minimum trail widths and horizontal clearances criteria.
• Horizontal geometry constraints (including minimum radii for curves) and
allowable design speeds for bicycles.
• Maximum allowable vertical grades and rates of curvature for both bridge
structures and for access ramps.
• Emergency access requirements.
• Minimum lighting requirements.
• BNSF railroad clear zone requirements for foundations and vertical clearances to
bridge girders.
• Requirements for stormwater detention and water quality.
• Construction criteria within 100-year flood plain.
• Utility clearance requirements.
o Meet with utilities departments to discuss impact of the bridge on the adjacent
pump station, sewer lines and water lines.
13 21
