Project Cost Summary) <br /> Amount Budgeted $1,900,000 <br /> Expenditure Required $184,404 Account Number(s): UP 3141-1 <br /> Budget Remaining $552,061 <br /> Additional Required $0 <br /> DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: <br /> On 5/4/2005,the City Council rejected all construction bids received for the replacement of TL 2 &3 Phases <br /> 6 &7 due to exceeding the budgeted amount. The major reasons for the cost difference for the temporary <br /> work platform can be attributed to the Corps of Engineers permit constraints for constructing in wetlands and <br /> the wild fluctuation and uncertainty in steel prices. Currently, staff is seeking relief from some of these <br /> constraints especially the pile driving construction window and the ability to use the wetlands to support <br /> some construction activities. This amendment will allow staff to work with MWH to develop alternative <br /> design in order to reduce the construction costs to within our budget. <br /> The authorized amount was$825,152 for the original contract, $1,163,535 after supplemental agreement 1 <br /> and will become$1,347,939 after supplemental agreement 2. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the mayor to sign Supplemental Agreement No.2 with MWH Americas, Inc. to develop <br /> alternative design for Phase 6 of the Replacement of Water Transmission Lines 2 &3 in the amount of <br /> $184,404. <br /> 27 <br /> S:\SNasr\TL Phases 6&7\Agenda-Supplemental Agreement No 2.doc <br />
