3.3 Transit Service and Facilities
The County campus is currently served very well by Everett Transit, Community Transit
and Sound Transit. As of February 2002, all three service providers operated to the
Everett Station multi-modal center at Smith And Pacific Avenues. The Everett Station is
within walking distance of the County campus.
Everett Transit and Community Transit continue to operate buses in the downtown on
sections of Broadway, Lombard, Wetmore, Colby, Hoyt, Rucker, Pacific, Wall, Hewitt,
California and Everett Avenues.
Everett Transit operates seven routes connecting throughout the City to the County
campus including service to the Whidbey Island ferry terminal at Mukilteo. Community
Transit operates several county-wide routes connecting the County campus to most other
cities within the county. Sound Transit operates regional routes providing direct access
to Everett Station from Seattle.
3.4 Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities
Pedestrian facilities around the County campus are good. The streets surrounding the
County campus have sidewalks on both sides and there are several pedestrian plazas and
concourses through the campus with benches and other amenities. Way-finding around
the campus is poor. Customers and visitors to County services have a difficult time
finding the appropriate buildings, departments and rooms.
Since the campus is located in the downtown core of Everett, most streets within a
quarter mile radius have sidewalks on both sides providing excellent access to other
amenities in the downtown and to other modes of travel, such as bus stops and
commercial parking lots.
There are no bicycle trails or bicycle lanes in the immediate vicinity of the County
campus. Many of the arterial and local streets in the area are suitable for cyclists.
however. The County does not currently provide showers or lockers for bicyclists.
CRI Transportation Impact Analysis Page 7 June 2002
