February 1, 2017 <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Stonecipher announced the Cultural Arts Commission <br /> will be presenting the Mayor's Art Awards and the Richard Wendt Award <br /> of Excellence on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at the Everett Performing <br /> Arts Center. This event is open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. and <br /> the program begins at 7 p.m. <br /> Council Member Murphy, along with President Tuohy, provided opening <br /> remarks at the Naval Station Everett welcome breakfast last week for the <br /> three new Navy destroyers. <br /> Council Member Roberts announced the General Government <br /> Subcommittee is scheduled to meet next Wednesday, February 8, 2017. <br /> Council Member Franklin reminded the public that the City Library, Author <br /> David Sheff / Everett Reads event will be held on February 10, 2017, <br /> 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Everett Performing Arts Center. She thanked <br /> the Mayor for his statement in response to President Trump's immigration <br /> ban. Council Member Franklin also reported on her attendance at the <br /> Community Streets Initiative meeting this week and reminded the public <br /> that the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is scheduled to meet at noon on <br /> February 8'2017, in the Council Chambers. <br /> ADMINISTRATION UPDATE ON PRIOR BUSINESS <br /> Debra Bryant, Administration, had no report. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> The City Attorney had no comments. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Jackie Minchew, Everett, spoke on climate change and provided Council <br /> with a handout about the Plant-for-the-Planet children's initiative. <br /> 37 <br />
