February 1, 2017 <br /> The following City Public Works Department employees expressed safety <br /> concerns relating to the City Council's decision to table the Public Works <br /> Service Center Redevelopment Project, and urged council members to <br /> work with city staff to bring the project back to the table for action. <br /> Bill Barrett, Bothell <br /> Janet Nobis, Seattle <br /> Gina Loring, Everett <br /> Dave Davis, Public Works Director, provided an update on the status of <br /> the project. <br /> Council Member Moore clarified the Service Center Redevelopment <br /> Project was not tabled indefinitely, but rather the motion was tabled due to <br /> concerns about the location and to allow time to gather additional <br /> information. <br /> Mayor Stephanson stated staff is actively looking at a number of <br /> properties and options. He stated he understood the urgency and will get <br /> back to Council with a timeline most likely this year. <br /> Kathryn Beck, Everett, requested the Mayor and City Council declare <br /> Everett a sanctuary city, and asked for a follow-up response from the City. <br /> President Tuohy asked Debra Bryant, Administration, to look into this <br /> issue and report back to Council. <br /> Elaine Wilson, Lowell Neighborhood, spoke about the removal of the <br /> Everett Transit bus shelter on 2nd Avenue and explained the criticality of <br /> this bus shelter to the individuals of the Women's Mission. <br /> Debra Bryant stated Paul Kaftanski, Administration, would take Ms. <br /> Wilson's contact information and follow up with her. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher inquired as to the reason the bus shelter <br /> was removed. <br /> Debra Bryant stated she would follow up with additional information. <br /> 38 <br />
