Performers and technical staff are hired locally from the Puget Sound region. <br /> The productions are built from the ground up, including sets, costumes and props. Funding will <br /> be used to help cover artist fees. <br /> Village Theatre Pied Piper 1,000 11,340 3,000 1,950 <br /> Color Me Dark: A Story of the Great Migration North. Pied Piper is Village Theatre's youth <br /> education program, presenting quality international performing arts for young people. Two <br /> public performances of Color Me Dark are scheduled. In the deep south of the 1920's, African- <br /> American families are still subject to fierce prejudice. This show explores the lives of two <br /> sisters as they bear witness to this time of great social uprising. In an attempt to abandon <br /> these injustices, the family migrates to Chicago, the cultural hub of the Midwest, only to <br /> encounter similar if not more severe circumstances.
