The concert season of four orchestras of the Everett Youth Symphony <br /> present three concerts at the Everett Civic Auditorium. Led by the professional conductors, <br /> each orchestra performs several pieces of classical music. The orchestras prepare for the <br /> concerts by rehearsing for 10 weeks with conductors, coaches and professional musicians. <br /> Funds will help pay for printing of the concert programs that are given at the free concerts they <br /> perform. <br /> Imagine Children's Museum 100,000 9,575 3,000 1,900 <br /> (annually) <br /> Guest Artist Series. The museum appreciates and values art as a medium that encourages <br /> creativity and visual learning and opens doors to history, science and culture. This series <br /> allows the museum the opportunity to bring in artists to share their talents and work directly <br /> with children. Activities will include wood carving, learning black light art, dancing, stamping, <br /> and creating Native American flutes. Funds will be used solely for the Guest Artist Series— to <br /> provide a stipend and offset supplies. <br /> I KSER 500 12,000 2,000 1,250 <br /> KSER Annual Community Concert. The proposed concert will bring recognized performers <br /> to Everett for a concert designed to promote the appreciation of world music. KSER is the only <br /> independent community radio station in Snohomish County. Funds will be used to pay artist <br /> fees and venue cost. <br /> I Northwest Savoyards 5,000 108,200 5,000 3,000 <br /> 2005-2006 Season. Performances by the Northwest Savoyards and Debut Theatre will include <br /> Gilbert & Sullivan's The Gondoliers, Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors, and the <br /> award-winning musicals Honk and Gypsy. The Savoyard's continue their efforts to produce <br /> quality musical theater entertainment for Everett area audiences, and to provide hands-on <br /> experience in performance and stagecraft for aspiring artists and production personnel. They <br /> also conduct two workshops each year to teach theater arts to children. Funds will be used to <br /> help defray costs of theatre rentals. <br /> I Olympic Ballet Theatre 1,000 17,100 2,000 2,000 <br /> Peter and the Wolf, with music by Prokofiev, delightfully introduces children to the instruments <br /> of the orchestra. Also included in this production is The Introduction to the Magic of Theatre, <br /> where audience members view a special behind the scenes demonstration of scenery, lighting, <br /> costumes, props, and ballet technique. Funds will be used to pay promotional expenses, <br /> production costs, and artistic expenses. <br /> 16 <br />
