The concert season of four orchestras of the Everett Youth Symphony present three concerts at the Everett Civic Auditorium. Led by the professional conductors, each orchestra performs several pieces of classical music. The orchestras prepare for the concerts by rehearsing for 10 weeks with conductors, coaches and professional musicians. Funds will help pay for printing of the concert programs that are given at the free concerts they perform. Imagine Children's Museum 100,000 9,575 3,000 1,900 (annually) Guest Artist Series. The museum appreciates and values art as a medium that encourages creativity and visual learning and opens doors to history, science and culture. This series allows the museum the opportunity to bring in artists to share their talents and work directly with children. Activities will include wood carving, learning black light art, dancing, stamping, and creating Native American flutes. Funds will be used solely for the Guest Artist Series— to provide a stipend and offset supplies. I KSER 500 12,000 2,000 1,250 KSER Annual Community Concert. The proposed concert will bring recognized performers to Everett for a concert designed to promote the appreciation of world music. KSER is the only independent community radio station in Snohomish County. Funds will be used to pay artist fees and venue cost. I Northwest Savoyards 5,000 108,200 5,000 3,000 2005-2006 Season. Performances by the Northwest Savoyards and Debut Theatre will include Gilbert & Sullivan's The Gondoliers, Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors, and the award-winning musicals Honk and Gypsy. The Savoyard's continue their efforts to produce quality musical theater entertainment for Everett area audiences, and to provide hands-on experience in performance and stagecraft for aspiring artists and production personnel. They also conduct two workshops each year to teach theater arts to children. Funds will be used to help defray costs of theatre rentals. I Olympic Ballet Theatre 1,000 17,100 2,000 2,000 Peter and the Wolf, with music by Prokofiev, delightfully introduces children to the instruments of the orchestra. Also included in this production is The Introduction to the Magic of Theatre, where audience members view a special behind the scenes demonstration of scenery, lighting, costumes, props, and ballet technique. Funds will be used to pay promotional expenses, production costs, and artistic expenses. 16
