, A F F I D A V I T <br />STATE Or WASIiINGTON ) <br />) ss. <br />COUNTY OF SidOHOMISH ) <br />IiARLEY OLSON, being first duly sworn on oath, deposes and says: <br />That I am a co-owner, along with my son, of Olson & Olson Excavating, <br />and that my address is 5028-6th Avenue 1�.Id., i�arysville, Washington, <br />gg27�, Th�t my business is one of clearing and grading land and that <br />I have in excess of 20 }•ears experience in road building. That I cus- <br />tomarily do contract wor�: for private parties and local conrractors <br />throughout the Snohomish County area. <br />That on October 30, 1980, I was hired by Silver Homes Corporation <br />to use his Case 350 cat to cut and backfill an alley located adjacent <br />to 2120 Main Street in Lowell. That in the course of this work, <br />ypproximar_ely 12 10-yard dump trucks of pit run were brought in and <br />deposited. Some of these loads were dumped in one place and were <br />spread using the cat. Others, were spread by the truck itself and the <br />cat wae nsed for even grading.T/ �ughout the course of this filling <br />SPr.�/f"/� <br />a vibrapack compactor was towed bellind the cat. The vibrapack in addi- <br />tion to the drum, had its own diesel engine so as to cause vibration <br />during the compacting. <br />That I was personally present when each truck was dumped, That <br />all the material used in construction of this alley appeared to be of <br />good quality pit run, free and clear of all debris. That during my 20 <br />years of experience of building roads I have gained much experience <br />anc: am able to discern and distinguish good quality pit run material <br />from other fill materials. <br />That the material was compact�d in lift� of 6 inches to 8 inches <br />each. �hat each lift was wetted down so as to enhance the compaction <br />PAGE OP1E <br />
