M E M O R A N D U M
Ap; File
BROM: Jane Zimmeman
DATE: January 13, 1994
&OBJECT: West Mall Apartments, Detention and
Stormwater Quality Enhancement
With reqards to review of this project:
- The biofiltration swale treating runoff from the
driveway areas does not meet city standards. However,
treatment of runoff from the paved areas is not required per
city standards because the uncovered paved area is less than
10,000 square feet. Thereiore, the applican= has not been
required to design a swale that meets city standards.
- The infiltration system designed to detain runoff from
the drivei+ay areas does not meet city standards. Hcwever,
the coinbined stormwater release of t:ze detention veult
release plus the undetained runoff from the drivaway areas
is less thar, the city's allowable detention release for the
25 year stor.n as calculated using city methods. Therefore,
detention of the driveway areas is not required per city
standards, and the infiltration system provided does not
need to meet city standards.
