asr:ing questions he got rude and threatered to cail the police. I encourayed him to do just that, he told me to get off thz
property, so I came home and called the police. T police called me oack and said they had confirmation bout thevetlands
and would make the man stop the clearing. They did, nothing happened for few years other than the continuing erosion
damaged. the city then came in and put up markers where the protected wetlands were and there was to be no clearing
in those areas.
Over the next few years, new home were going in north of the this property, in taking out the trees they had, my renter
lost a great deal of their privacy, the new homes looked right into the yard and front room window. She moved out in
2009. I called the city again, I was told that the property had sold and that they were gong to build 8 units on the land.
And now all the wetland signs had been removed. I have never been notifed that the wetland on my property had becn
reclassified, if so when I had to rebuild my fence I would have build it on my iot line.
?nings jusc kept yetting werse as far as the erosion and the overtzking of the blackberries and other weeds. The yad an
the north side of r:+y property is always wet, it was alrcost impossible to maintain due to the wetness.
This year things really went bad, I came home one day and sav peope clearing in this lot again, I slowed down to see
what was going on then came hoine, I was goino to call the police ayain. But almos` s soon as I got inside, a man came
to the door and introduced himselF to me as]effrey Grey, the contractor who had b. - ht this lot. this lot runs from Holly
Street west to+he next street. I explained what I had alreaiy gone through and advised him of the proteced wetlands,
he said he knew nothing about the wetlands and would check into it. He also advise me at that time, he was not going to
be building right away due to funding. He did assure me that he would replace the trees and corred the problem, he
would make sure things were right.
A few months later, late Jly or August, I am driving home and see that almost all the trees on my north property vere
now gone, the property has been surveyed and marked. I see that they have cicared about five feet of my north roperty
line and the ground level is now way below my the bottom of my fence, the land on the north side of my fence is about a
foot or mcre lower than the original level of the land. I am not a happy camper at this point.
l"hen the contractor brings in truck loads of dirt and build the ground on just that property about 3-4 feet, there is no
type of retainer, just the property line tape I ran when I tool pictures. The builders have not got one of the hvo building
fremed, and the forms and foundation for the building just north of my property line are ready to start framing. If you
were to look at tnis property from Holly looking west, you would see a difference of 3-4 in the level. Now I will admit I am
not an engineer, but I think a school kid couid tell you there is going to be a problem when the winds and rains come -
which they did this weekend. I finally got Jeffrey Gray to call me back, only to tell me he had sold the property to Seattle
Pacific Homes, and I need to contact the,
I called the phone number I have for Mr. Gray, who finally calls me back and tells me he sold the property to Seattle
Pacific Homes. I have left them an email message on their website. I also called my insurance agent who advises me that
if a tree falls they will cover that, but if there is any type of Flooding or water damage I am not covered for that.
Now beside that fact that my property is now being destroyed by the erosion, I am rather concerned about the clearing of
the wetlands. I am wondering who exactly is responsible for this. Is it the city for permitting this to happen and not
notifying me if the wetland had been reclassified, is it just the builder's responsibility? The reason I have sent this email
to all of you is because when I call, I just keep getting told you need to mntact this department, not you need to contact
this department.
II do have a message form years aqo from a gentleman who does confirm there is a buffer on the north side of my
property. When was that changed and why. I would like to kno iF an environmental impact study was done and how can
I obtain a copy.
I would like someone to contact me regarding this immediately, after you have viewed the situation. I can make
arrangements to meet at the propert.
Respectfully,
