The Wetiand A boundary was <br /> delineafed a d flagged with pink numbered "WeHand Boundary' flaggfng. <br /> WeUand A is ssociated wtth Swamp Creek, the stream located oH-site to the <br /> southwest. etland A was delfneat�d with one flag-Ilne numbering from A-1 to <br /> A-30 (see a ,hed sketch). Sofl log holes in fhis area were merked with yeliow <br /> wire whips, S -2(waUand)and SL-1 (upland). <br /> WeUand A is located approximetely in tho center of the subject property and <br /> extends out o site to the so�nhwest connecting to Swamp Creek. The primary <br /> source of hy roloqy for this waUand is ground weter and surfece floN (rom � <br /> impervious su ces on adjacent parcels, The sails found I� the weUsnd consist <br /> of a four-inch A horizon of black (7.5YR 2�l1) nrganic muck ovedying a 8- ' <br /> horizon of 1C�I'R 2/2 sitty loam with 10YR 316 mottles to � least 12 inches. <br /> Sulfidia odor Was present. Low chmma (? with mattles) soils wfth present in tFe <br /> upper 10 inchbs af the sofi profile meets the c�iteria for hyd�ic solls. Soils were <br /> saturated to 1fie surFaca, with free water prasent in the soil log hole at a depth of <br /> two inches, providing sufflcieni indicatlons of weiland hydrology. In addition, <br /> Inundation greater than 12 Incties in depth was oi�served in WeUand A. The <br /> veqelation in the watland is dominated in the tree layer by Red alder (Alnus <br /> rvbra), with Saimonberry(Rubus spectabllls)dominant in the shrub layer. Pac'tfic <br /> willow (Salix lasiandra) is cammon, and Paper birch (Betula papyrifsra) and <br /> Westem red cedar (Thuja pllcata) are scettered in lhe wetland �ge.
