Upon returning to the office I cY.ec'ced with Dave Koenig once again to make sur.e that funds were available for assisl-ing Mrs. Rice. I was assured that there were. At 9:45 a.m. Mrs. Rice phoned and I had to return her call. It' s the first time she has ever answered her phone when I have called. She informed me that she did not need any help. She had been in tha house over the weekend and determined that she could do all the work iierself . She wants to sift through everything and salvage what she can and she doe� � 't feel that she wants help with it . She said she would give us a call if she wanted assistance. She was to have a meet_ng �vith the CIIIP Staff at 4 :00 p.m. today but asked that I notify them that she was not goi.iig to attend. I passed thc messa9e along . You had mentioned tl�at we should proceed to condemn the house. At this time all we have is our abatement procedure whicli we have followed throu9h to the demolition as authorized by our codes. Tlzere is a Resolution before Council authorizing demolition and clearing of the struct.ure. It is the only avenue open Co the City at this time in solving the problem.
