NIEMI <br />CITY OF EVER ETT <br />Public Works Dept. <br />May 31, 1990 <br />RE: Building Permit <br />Everett Main Library <br />87-085 <br />I have met and discussed the issuance of the building permit with <br />Tim Tyler and Steve Miller of the Everett Building Dept. The <br />Planning Department will be signing off today and the permit will <br />be ready to issue subject to the following requirement. <br />The Building Department will require submittal of shoring and <br />bracing drawings as a requirment for issuance of the building <br />permit. There are a variety of conditions including the existing <br />parking structure, removal of existing structure under portions <br />of the existing building which are to remain and various <br />underpinning and earth retaining requirements. It might be <br />difficult for you to define these all at this time since the <br />conditions might change as the work proceeds, therefore, we have <br />suggested to the city and they have agreed to accept a letter <br />from a licensed professional engineer in Washington, which states <br />they will be responsible for design and review of all required <br />shoring and bracing. Their stamped design must be submitted to <br />the building department prior to proceeding with thoss portions <br />of the work. The city is not required to review and or approve <br />these, they only need to be assured the engineer of record has. <br />These submittals are required by Specification Section 02150, 1.2 <br />submittals and must also be submitted to our office prior to <br />proceeding with the work.
