This backs onto ihe property ?;iat is being considered here tonight. I have had ihe property (or more ihan 20 years and in that time have had a major construction update of my building and painted it a tew times. I was required to satisfy lhe code with the required number of parking lots. I believe it is in the besi interests of the neighborhood to permit the building of new well constructed fre resistant buildings, and no one is more enthusiastic about ihe prospect ot a new tuilding than me, but not at ihe Axpense of crealing a slum area for the next generation to deal with. Unfortunately in this past �ear we have had a loi of problems with finding hypodermic needles, beer bottles and other human waste being discarded into the shrubbery oi my clinic. I am most anxious to see a new building and a new cless of person in the apartmenis. There is a premium on parking in the neighbnrhood every work day. Inierestingly enough over the past few months the parking has been easier no doubt because we have two newty nat quite tinished apariment buildings all within 5 or 6 lots of ihis proposed building. Probably ihis very building is presently not let, or let to people without cars as there has been a reduction noticed. If you walk the streets it is easy to see ihat cars have been previously parked there as you can see ihe accumula;ion of oil on the side of the road in all locations surrounding ihis. If !.hera is not sufficient parking within the apartment lols being constructed ihe cars spill out over the roadwa;s impeding ihe ever growing traNic. We need ctean wide �;reets, not jammed up back alleys. We have lo do something tc improve and then maintain a better image in downtown Everett. We �o not need any more car jammed aileys which make it easy for the seemingly more prevalent dru� traffic and trar�sients that our town is having more problems with. A representative of the Mayoi's office was not surprised to hear ihat we now had transienis camped in a car in our back alley and more than one altempt to sleep in my garden. Ii I want to keep out the cars and persons wh� are not coming to my clinic for service the police tell me I must erect a large no trespassinp sign so they will be able to remove the offenders. This is a sorry sight to come to ihe are,3. Its erection will also stop the persons parking on my lot on public holidays (e.�. the 4th o1 July parade). An action I am not anxious to take as is seems so inhospitable and unfriendly.
