THE �XPANDED WASHINGTQIY ADh1II�IISTftA'TIVG CUDk; VVILL READ AS FOL.LOWS: Approved, unvented decorative gas logs and decor;stive fireplaces may be installed, useti, maintained, and permitted to exist in any Group I or R Occupancy, except bathrooms and bedrooms. An unvented decorative gu log is a l�sced nacural or liquified petroleum gas burning log with an open flame consiscing of a metal frame or base supporting simulated logs which is designed so that i�s primary function lies in the aeschetic effect of the logs and flame. An unvenred decorative fireplace s a listed unvented gas log permanently installed in a freestanding enclosure or zero clearance enclosurc designed and approved for installation in walls or other building structures. Unvented decorative gas logs and fireplaces, shall: (1) be equipped with an approved oxygen-depletion sensor, (2) be listed, (3} no[ be ins�ailed in any room which does nor have an alternative� primary suurce of heu[, (4) have free air volume of at least 50 cubic feet (1.4 m') for each 1,000 BTLI (2,2mm'/w) of thermal ourpuc, (5) be parmanendy installed, and (6) not be equipped with or conne�ted to any automatic igmtion or shut-uff device except the oxygen-depletinn sensor.
