� Ro� Caaieron, Traffic Engineer � C. <br />� Y,en Calla:an, Building Official <br />April 16, 1981 <br />,��� � On-site parktng requ9rements for a proposed �; <br />eight unit apartment at 4126 Hoyt <br />d am wrlting to you a¢ the request of the Board of Ad,justment relative to <br />a variance application sub:nitted to the Board for a variance request at <br />the referenced address by Mr. Ted Schmelzer. <br />At our monthly meating on April 6, 1981, Mr. 5chmelzer appeared before the <br />Board of AdjusUnent applying for a variance for on-site parkin requirements <br />frpn the requirement of 12 spaces (for an eight unit apartment� to 8 spaces. <br />After consideration of Aublic 4brks concerns as outlined in their me�uo <br />dated 3/30/81. and hearing testimony of several of the neighbors, the <br />BoarQ denied the appilcation by a 3 to 2 vote. <br />Mr. Schnelzer testified that the apart�nts Nere bein9 designed for the <br />elderly and low-inc�me persons and that he had confirmation of the Planning <br />Department and the Everett Housing Authority's recaamendations for approval <br />uf the variance, although no recomnendations had been submitted to the <br />Board by efther party. <br />The Board aould like to know if limited street parking or some other <br />solution could be ►rorked out to allow the reduction in the parking requireme�ts <br />and justify granting of the variance. <br />enc (2) <br />cc: Dennis Derickson, Planntng Director <br />Del Russell, Chairman, Board of Adjustment <br />Ed Wilbur ✓ <br />
