A copy of this notice <br /> was also mailed to Mr. Hiird by Certified tfail and was recei�•ed <br /> by P1r. Hurds brother or_ June 18, 1975. At the time I handerl <br /> Mr. Hur.d the notice he verbally agreed to allow access to tne <br /> building for an inspection. <br /> i A joint inspection was scheduled fcr 9: 00 a.m. , July 22, 1975, <br /> and the Inspection Division Supervisor and the Fire t4arshal <br /> were notified. <br /> At 8:00 a.m, on July 22, ] 975, I arrived at 122 Intercity Avenue <br /> and £ound idr. Hurd there with approximately seven other persons. <br /> The driveway to the property was blocked by several people and <br /> I parked on city property adjacent to the roadway. <br /> I then approached Mr. IIurd and asked him i£ he was ready for <br /> our inspection. At that time he starte3 a portable tape. recorder <br /> and stated that he had changed his mind about allowing the <br /> inspection and had posted the Property prohibitive access. I <br /> then reminded D1r. Hurd that the Yverett City Council would discuss <br /> the matter on July 23, 1975 at ?: 00 p.m. , idr. Hurd acknowlc:dged <br /> this. I had no £urther conversation with *1r. IIurd about the <br /> natter. <br /> I noticed Mr. Hurd was armed, having a revolver in hi:s belt. <br /> The Fire Marshal and the Inspection. Supervisbr arri.ved shortly' <br /> after l did and DSr. Hurd asked each one who they w�.re. Mr. flm:d <br /> then engaged the Fire f1ar:;ha1 in cor�c•ersation about anothc�smatter. <br /> At this point I left the scene. <br />
