We agree with your comments. <br />ITEM 2 <br />UMC Section 1904: We agree with your comments. All air <br />has been taken from outside the building, however, the <br />electrical interlocking with the exhaust system has not <br />been satisfactorily completed. This may be accomplished <br />with the installation of a sail switch in the exhaust <br />system. Since this is a belt driven exhaust system an <br />interlock between the fan motor relay and the gas valve <br />controls would not be acceptable. The breakage of a belt <br />would still allow the motor to run which in turn allows <br />the make-up unit to continue firing. <br />ITEM 3 <br />UMC Section 704 and UBC Section 708-1108: By definition <br />(UMC Section 405 and UBC Section 404) this unit as installed <br />must be classified as "central heating plant"-. Therefore, <br />a one hour fire resistive occupancy separation is required. <br />However, if the unit can be modified to reduce the BTU <br />input to not exceed 400,000 BTU and still maintain the <br />
