My concem was to ensure
the signs were safely attached to the building so they didn't pose a hazard to the
occupants or generel public.
The lower sign is attached to the face of the structure so wind loads are only
experienced from one direction. There were notable fasteners at a reasonable spaung.
It is my opinion that this sign will continue to peform satisfactorily as it has for years.
The upper sign is attached to the face of
the upper strudure with 8' at each end
extending past the strudure. The entire
sign is constructed of a steel frame with
pressure treated plywood panels. The
extensions are supported by steel struts
anchored to the roof. The one item not
provided for in the originai sign was a
base connection for these extensions. I
worked witli the owner to fabricate and
install a base plate at these two corners
to which the sign is securely fastened to
the structure. Wind design calculations
show that the sign connections are
adequate and this sign will continue to
perform satisfactorily as it has for years.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please call.
6628 212th Street SW, Suite 205 - Lynnwood, WA 98036 - Ph: 425-778-1023 - Fax: 20 Z60-7490
