On December 5, 199U, bids for the demolition of the building r+ere <br />opened. M anouymous caller contacted Marian Payne within tl�ree hours oi :he bid opening <br />and stated that the City had to address asbestos within the bid cuatract. After <br />�� tesearching State regulations, it was determined by our Legal Department staff that tha <br />bids We received for the demolition of the buildings had to be rejected, a�d the contract <br />specifications had to be changed in accordance aith WAC 296-62-07707 addressing the issue <br />�( � of asbestos in structures which are slated for demolition.
