Section 310.9.1.4 <br />6) Protection should be provided to the 6x6 posts in the garage from damage by motor vehicles. <br />Section 704.2.5 <br />7) The following comments apply to the guardrails at the exterior decks: <br />i) The minimum height should be shown to be 42" AFF. Section 509.3 <br />8) Moisture exhaust duct penetrations of rated ceilings should be protected by listed ceiling <br />radiation dampers or an approved alternate. Section 713.. 1 <br />9) The crawlspace under Unit H has a note stating that a 2" slab or mechanical ventilation could be <br />used in lieu of the ventilation required by Section 2306.7. The proposed ..,cchanical ventilation <br />is acceptable with the use of a humidistat, the 2" slab would not be an alternative to natural <br />ventilation however as the ground under the slab is not the only means of moisture in the <br />crawlspace. <br />10) Safety glazing should be provided in all glass within 5' of the bottom and top of the stairways, <br />where the bottom edge of the glass is less than 60" above the walking surface. If the glazing is <br />along the path of the stairs, then a guardrail must be provided. Sections 509.1 & 2406.4 <br />l I) The exterior stairs that serve more than one dwelling unit should have at least one handrail that <br />extends a minimum of 12" past the top riser and 21" past the bottom riser. Note that this will <br />effect the entry landings. Section 1003.3.3 3 <br />12) The size of the whole house fans should be noted on the plans, or Table 3-3 (VIAQ) should be <br />shown to accommodate the range of fans as shown. <br />Please prepare a response letter showing where each item in this correction letter is addressed on the <br />plan set. <br />Upon resubmission of the drawings, your application will be given priority and plan review will <br />recommence. <br />All required submittals shall be of sufficient detail and contain sufficient information to ensure that the <br />proposed structure will be constructed in compliance with all adopted codes. <br />Sincerely, <br />Tony R.
