SELECTIVE PALLET RACK <br />ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS <br />/� .—.._.— <br />��/nter/a�ceu <br />MATERIqL Nr1NOL�NG SOLUTIONS <br />Step 1- Check the Material <br />Check to make certain that all materials have been received. Check ihe material received against the <br />Bill of Lading and packing Ilsts. Notify the shipper immediately of any shortages or product da�nage. <br />Step 2- Check the Area <br />Or,ce the rack material is unloaded, clear the area where the rack system is to be located. Check the <br />area for all obstruclions, such as building columns, lights, heai ducts, pipes, etc., to insure a dear <br />area (or rack installation <br />Stea 3- Lav Out Floor <br />Establish the rack layout. determining aisle dimensions and lhe positioning uf lhe rack. Snap chalk <br />lines to locate a slarl linc, as well as faces of frames on the aisle. (See sketch.) <br />Step 4- Erect the First Bav <br />Each bay requires t�vo frames. Determine and mark the beam elevations on the uprigh• frames, then <br />sland the first upright frame vertically. Atlach the beam as foltows: <br />Rolb(ormed Frame - Engage the beams into the upright by inserting the beam s�uds into the <br />keyholes on lhe frame column. An integral locking device is provided on roll-formed beams for <br />allaching to roll-formed frames lo protect from accidenlal beam disengagement. Refer to INS-00007 <br />for instructions <br />NOTE: Some load be�ms may be provided wifh snap locks in place o/ the Interlock Ior special <br />applications. Nfake sure all snap locks are engaged completel}� into each upriqhl column to prevent <br />beam disen5agement. <br />Structural Frame (and any roll-formed frames when using a beam with an infinilely adjustable <br />endplate) - Bolt the beam to the upright frame using the hardware provided. The bolt is inserted <br />U;roughout ihe rear of ihe frame colwnn so that ihe nut shows on the face of the column when <br />assernbled. Infinitely adjuslable endplates should be pressed firrnly againsl lhe siCe of the column <br />�vhile tiqhtening <br />NOTE P/ease see Ihc bolf Lghfeniny speuGcation af fhe end ot lhese insfrur,lions. <br />Stand the second upright (rame vertically, attaching the load beams as above Install sut�sequent <br />beam levels from the lowest Ievet lo the highest level. <br />Step 5- Plumb, Level, and Anchor the First BaV <br />The flrst bay of each ro�v must be anchored to the Ooor lo insure proper plar.ement of lhe rack to ihe <br />Iloor IayouL Make sure that the bay is square and plumb be(ore anchoring. (See skelch.) Use shims <br />as required. They are availahle in t/8 and 1/76 mch Uiicknesses. <br />NOTE. Check with your disfributor or the manulacturer lor the suggesteu type, size, and specilication <br />oI anchor to be used, which will depend on fhe height and width o/ /rames, as weU as the application <br />of pallet rack. <br />Each upright frame has 2 footplates, each with 2 anchor holes for iloor anchor�ng Under norrnal <br />circumstances, only 1 anchor is required for each footplate. <br />RP��.�Pn n�.��n.� <br />�_'I .;' <br />
