Royce, Housing Inspector NovemGer 8, 1977 Page two He : 2115 East Grand, Everett, WA, I do not have available for research the Everett City Code but I am struck by the fact that there appears to be very little consideration oi' the various property interests pertaining to this particular parcel, in the procedures follow- ed by your City Council in ordering the demolition of this property. I have a sneaky suspicion that the reason that this action was taken at this particular time was at the request of � an a3�oining property owner by the name of Pope and/or LeMieux. In any case I have a strong question in my mind as to the legality of the actions so far taken and particular the action that is now threatened. My review of your inspection records indicates that if the wiring on this house is brought up to code, the ma�or if not primary complaint held by your organization against this particular piece of property will be satisfied. As you are aware Mr. and Mrs . Alderman are in the property improving it daily and have already committed them- selves to the re-wiring of the house in order to satisfy this ob�ection. I do wish to work this matter out with your organi- zation and will take all steps necessary to cooperate with you. However you must be aware that my ob�ective is to preserve this property if it is at all feasible and under the present circum- stances it appears ver,y lilcely that preservation of this property is not only possible but probable. However, if I can' t get the cooperation fr•om your organizatioii that I am requesting; particularly a stay of this demolition date untill it is determined whether or not the 5ldermans proposal and plan is satisfactory; then I will under- take whatever steps I feel are necessary in order to stop what I consider to be an illegal act. I do hope this latter step is not necessary but I can assure you my client is prepared to go ahead with such action in order to preserve the integrity of this property. I would appreciate it if you would contact me as socn as possible so that we can make arrangements in order to see about working around this uncomfortable situation.
