This repoR presents the
r results of our field explcrrti.^.r. selective laboratory tests, and engineering analyses. The
i purpose and scope of car sr.:dy was outiined in our October 25, 2000 proposal.
'' Based on the results of our study, it is our opinion the project can be constructed
generally as planned. The proposed underground parking excavation can be
accomplished using open cuts provided an easement is obtained for the City of Everett to
( cut into the sidewalk. Building support may be provided on a combination of
( conventional spread and continuous footing foundatics bearing on the competent native
soil and drilled piers embedded in the very dense sand and gravel underlying the site. The
building should be supported on the drilled pier or augercast pile foundations within
fifteen feet of the top of the slope to prevent loading the top of the slope. Slab-on-grade
Cfloors may be supported on the competent native soils at the basement level.
We appreciate tiiis opportunity to be of service to you. If you have any questions or if
we can be of further assistance, please call.

Respectfully submitted,
 EARTH ONSULTANTS, INC.
r -_.
L f
Robert S.
