 Subsurface Erpinrarion and
2026 Grmid Ai•emrc Georec/wical Engineering Report
Everert It'nshrneton Project and Site Condilions
IThe L-shaped property is roughly 190 feet east-west by 100 feet north-south. The iopography
uf the propercy gendy slopes down towaris the west within 100 feet o`Grand Avenue and then
( slopes steepty down owards the west. Steep slopes on the west end of the property were
estimated visually at 60 to 80 percent inclination, decreasing towards the west. Slope height
was estimated at 60 fcet with de toe of the slope located near titarine View Drive.
IAs currendy proposed, the eristing homes will be demolished. A new three-story wood-
framed condominium witli a concrete basement garage will be constructed. Gxcavation cuts
( along the e:ist end of the buiiding will b:: approx.imately 9 feet below current grade and
approximately 15 feet west of the sidevalk of Grand Acnue. 1'he west end of the buildint* is
proposed approximatrl 9 fet from the top of the est-facing steep slope.
I
3.0 SUDSURPACE E-XPLORA'I'ION
IOur tield study included completine geotechnical exploration borings and performing geologic
I smdies to gain suUsurface informatiun about the sire. The various rypes of sediments, as well
as the depths where characteristics oP the sediments changed, are indicared on the exploration
logs presented in the rppcndix. The number, locations, and depdis of the
explorations were completed within site and budgetary constraints. Qecause of the namre of
exploratory work below eround, estrapolation of subsurface conditions Uetween field
+ exploratiuns is necessary. It shoutd be noted that differing subsurPace conditiuns may
sometimes be present due to the random nature of deposition and de alteration of topography
by past grading and/or filling. The nature and extent of any variations beaveen the field
esplorations may not become fully evideut until construction. If variations are obsened at that
time, it may be necessary tu rc-evaluate specitic recommendations in this report and make
 appropriate changes.
3.1 Gxploration 13orines
 1'he exploration borings rre coriplete.l on da l7, 2000, by advancing a hollow-stem auger
vith a limite access track-nwmue drill rit: under subcontract to our tirm.
