May 22, Z013
'UBL/ N/ORKS
Mr. Michael Westford
2628 Grand Avenue
Everett, WA 98201
Subject: 2508 Grand Everett, WA
Mr. Nestford;
C izo_o3
The following deficiencies were noted withn the structure. Please be aware that these items do
not constitute a check lisf, only a summary of the items noticed — however, the items below do
represent our observations stemming from our walk through of the structure. Please also refer
to the plans is5ued for permit for additional requirements.
The electrical system is currently unsafe. The system as a whole has been modified in
the majority of areas without benefit of permit or inspection. From the deficiencies
observed from the exposed wiring alone, the electrical system is unsafe per IPMC
Sedion 108.1.2.
2. The plumbing system was generally noted to be in salisfaclory condition - with
exrnptions. The system has been modified in several areas without the benefit of
permil or inspection. There are several places where vents will need to be added to
allow lhe syslem lo work properly. Of particular notc is the need to have the plumbiny
in the lowest bathroom revised. Incorrect fitiings are used at the fixtures that may
prohibit thc system from working properly.
3. The decks appear to be in a saticfactory condition overall, however further altention and
maintenance will be required over thc next several years. Specific attention should be
addressed immcdialcly to thc following:
a. The guards need to be strengthened so that they do not deFlect under required
forces.
b. A few pickets are missing that need to be replaced.
c. Additional lag bolts need to be ins[alled to properly secure thc deck lo lhe
structure.
d. The slructure was connected to lhe jois` hangers using sheet rock screws.
Tliose screws are not approved for that use and musC be replaced.
e. In-lane lateral supports (cross bracing, diagonal bracing, etc.) should be addcd
lo [he decks at each level.
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • Everetl, WA 98201 -(425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8882
