2. The new stair at the end of the existing service �valk does not meet the minimum current <br />requirements for an exit with a minimum width of 36 inches, per IBC section 1009.1, exception <br />1, and should be shown as removed on the drawings submitted for permit. <br />a. Any increase in the width of the current service walkway would have to be <br />reviewed and approved by the Planning Department, due to current setback <br />requirements. <br />b. Historical county assessor records indicate the'service waik' on the back of the <br />building. The'walk' on the front of the building, as shown on those records, <br />provided the only egress for the units on the second Floor, as of August 31, <br />1967. <br />Construction <br />1. The new sliding glass door from the bedroom should indicate a landing <br />on both sides of the door, at the minimum width for the operable portion of the door opening, <br />per IBC section 1008.1.5. <br />a. The new service walkway depth, reyuired to provide a landing, shou!d be shown at the <br />same depth as the existing service walkway, on the drawings. <br />2. A ouard should be shown on the drawings at the new and existing service walkway for the <br />portion of the service walkway that can be acces�ed from the sliding glass door from unit 6, per <br />IBC seclion 1013. Elevation and section details for the openings of the guard and the height of <br />the guard should be sh�wn on the drawings. <br />3. Smoke alarms for the unit should be shown on the drawings, per IPMC section 7�4.2. <br />q. The malerial for the vertical giazing and skylights should be shown on the drawings, per IBC <br />sections 2405 and 2406. The degree of the roof pitch should be shown on the drawings, per <br />IBC section 2405.1. <br />5. The portion of the interior wall near the kitchen that was removed should be shown on the <br />drawings as demolished, and the new counter wall should be shown as new on the drawings <br />submitted for permit. <br />Energy <br />1. A reFlected ceiling plan indicating how the ceiling cavity was modified to instali the skylights, <br />including the location of the insulation to fill the exposed cavity, should be s{iown on the <br />drawings, per WSEC section 101.3.2.5. <br />2. Manufacturers catalog cuts should be submitted for the new glazing (vertical fenesU�ation and <br />skylights) to show compliance with WSEC Table 13-1. <br />
