WASHINGTO`: 98201 submitted to the Planning Office on July 29, 1985 PLAN 1: FRONT YARD DRIVEWAY AND PARKING STRIP WITH ACCESS TO GRAND AVENUE, DETAILS: I am proposing the construction of a driveway off Grand Avenue within the twenty foot (20') no parking zone adjacent to the stop sign. This driveway would lead to a parkins strip in front of mv_ house and be just large enough for my compact car (5' x 13') JUSTIFiCATIONS: 1. I work at General Hospital of Everett in the radiology department. At tines I am on the late shift and at times I am on -call for evening and nighttime emergencies. I have a garage but I have no direct access to this garaze(see Diagram). Thus it is important tnat I have a space closer to my front door. On -street parking is not an adequate solution since it is at a premium. and will more so be with the Nave moving in. Further- more parking is limited in front of my house due to the 20' no parking strip next to the stop sign. And finally, there is a 72 hour limit to parking. Z. The driveway would not "take spaces" away from on -street - parking, as .it would be situated within the no -parking strip adjacent to the stop sign. 3. Itwould be safer for me ::hen I am on -call to -be able to walk out of my front door and enter my car directly in front of my house than to walk all the wav around the block to the dark alley or all the wav down the street to my car. on a streetwhere there is insufficient city lighting.
