(�� ' �4 ... „� � � � � iw � (� BITB CONDITIONB eurlace The existing house occupies most of the moderately-sloped front portion of the lot. There is a concrete walk on the south side leading to the back of the house and an open space of 10 to 15 feet on the north side of the house. The ground drops about lo feet from the front to the rear of the house. From the rear of the house to the west edge of the existing excavation the ground drops another 8 to 12 feet over a horizontal distance of approximately 18 feet. Between the house and the excavated area, the ground is interrupted by a four-foot retaining wall, constructed with broken concrete slabs, located about l0 feet from the house. The excavated area was about 30 feet by 36 feet in plan dimensions and the near vertical cut bank on the east side varied from 10 to 12 feet in height. The sloped area outside of the cut has a overall grade in excess of �� 42 percent in the east-west direction, with a more moderate cross slope in the narth-south direction.
