WASHINGTON <br />for proposed Stop Abuse Facility <br />On January 23, 1980, Fire Marshal Walt Cooper and I made an <br />inspection at the referenced address relative to converting <br />the building from a single-family residence to a facility <br />for housing people involved in the Stop Abuse program. <br />Although we were not able to gain entry into the building <br />we could see into most of the areas and have ascertained that <br />the following additions and corrections will be required to <br />bring the building to minimum code requirements. <br />i <br />1. An automatic smoke detection system and a manual <br />fire alarm system are required. <br />2. An additional exit stairway is required from the <br />second floor to outside grade level. <br />e <br />asJ <br />3. The entire building must conform to the code <br />requirements for a Type V - 1 hour building. <br />4. Fire extinguishers are required based upon building <br />size and configuration and the class of fire <br />be <br />y <br />potential. (This will determined upon receipt <br />of plans.) <br />S. A fire hydrant shall be installed within 200 feet <br />f <br />of the building. <br />f�2 i <br />6. Bedroom windows must comply with Sec. 1204. <br />7. All windows lower than 18" above the floor must <br />be safety glass. <br />-I <br />8. Main floor bathroom and access to the building <br />shall comply with Barrier -Free Facilities (Physically <br />Handicapped) Code. <br />9. Some electrical work may be required. <br />i <br />Other additions or corrections may be required after the plans <br />have been submitted and reviewed although they would probably <br />be of a minor nature with the information that has been provided <br />to us. <br />These alterations and corrections are in addition -o those outlined <br />in the Special Property Use Permit. <br />cc: Karen Hecht -Wagner <br />
