WASHINGTON for proposed Stop Abuse Facility On January 23, 1980, Fire Marshal Walt Cooper and I made an inspection at the referenced address relative to converting the building from a single-family residence to a facility for housing people involved in the Stop Abuse program. Although we were not able to gain entry into the building we could see into most of the areas and have ascertained that the following additions and corrections will be required to bring the building to minimum code requirements. i 1. An automatic smoke detection system and a manual fire alarm system are required. 2. An additional exit stairway is required from the second floor to outside grade level. e asJ 3. The entire building must conform to the code requirements for a Type V - 1 hour building. 4. Fire extinguishers are required based upon building size and configuration and the class of fire be y potential. (This will determined upon receipt of plans.) S. A fire hydrant shall be installed within 200 feet f of the building. f�2 i 6. Bedroom windows must comply with Sec. 1204. 7. All windows lower than 18" above the floor must be safety glass. -I 8. Main floor bathroom and access to the building shall comply with Barrier -Free Facilities (Physically Handicapped) Code. 9. Some electrical work may be required. i Other additions or corrections may be required after the plans have been submitted and reviewed although they would probably be of a minor nature with the information that has been provided to us.
