The contractor informed us that during the installation of
],in Pile 1, an obstruction was hit and tilted the pile approximately 3' to 5' away from the garage. It's
our opinion that this angle will not affect the suitability of the pile. Piles 1 Ithrough 13 were driven to
the recommended depth of 10 feet. However, Piles 9 and 10 were driven to 9.5 and 9.7 feet,
respectively. It's our opinion that these piles are suitably driven. Pile 12 hit a solid obstruction causing
it to rotate in place. The contractor spoke with structural engineer and informed the contractor that the
pile could be moved six inches to the west, as shown on the Site Plan.
Conclusion
We have been providing monitoring services on a full-time basis for pin pile installation. Our findings
and conclusions are based on specific test locations, results, and construction activities observed while
on site. it is our opinion that the Pin Piles installed today are suitably driven and should provide
adequate support for the planned loads.
Attachment: Site Plan
Distribution:
Signed:
