36. If vehicles or equipment will be washed and/or steam cleaned on this site, a designated <br />wash/steam cleaning area must be provided for thesc activities. The area must be covered, <br />paved with Portland cement concrete, hydrolog'��.ally isolated from the storm drainage <br />system, and must drain to the sanitary sewer after being routed through a ba8latype <br />oiVwater separator designed to city standards. A discharge suthorization form the City's <br />Industrial Pretreatment Program may be required for the connection to the sanitary sewer. <br />Wastewater from washing operations may not be discharged to the stortn system. <br />37. The Washington State Clean Air Act requires the use of all known, available, and <br />reasonable means of controlling air pollution, including dust. Dust generated during <br />construaion activities can be controlled by wetting those dust souras such as areas of <br />exposed soils, washing tnick wheels before they leave the site, and installing and <br />maintaining gravel construction entrances. Construction vehide track-out is also a major <br />dust source. My evidence of track-out can trigger violations and 6nes from the <br />Department of Ecology or the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency. <br />38. The design of vehicle and maintenance areas must meet all app6cable standards current at <br />the time of submittal for Public Works pernuts. <br />39. A discharge authorization ftom the City's Industrial Pretreatment Progam will be <br />required for the sanitary sewer connect�on for the maintenance shop. <br />40. No physical connection to the storm drainage system will be allowed for repair bays, Fluid <br />dispensing azeas or storage areas. <br />41. Oil transmission fluids and all other chemicals or products of a hazardous or toxic nature <br />that may be used or storat on the site must be stored under wver in an area isolated from <br />the storm drainage system. These storage areas must be designated on the site plans. <br />42. The contractor must provide the Fire Marshal with specifications for tanks, piping, <br />dispensers and lead detection uipment, or any other special equipment prior to <br />installation. The above ground�el tanlc and its piping and appurtenances must be installed <br />in accordance with Uniform Fire Code Article 79. [nstallation of the above ground fuel <br />tank requires a pertnit from the Fire Department. Plans with manufacturer's tank listing <br />and a detailed site plan must be submitted to and approved by the Firo Department prior to <br />issuance of a permit. A final inspection by the Fire Department of the facility is also <br />required. <br />43. A 55-gallon drum full of absorbent material shall be kept in a location convenient to the <br />fueling island and tanker transfer areas. The absorbent material shall be used in the clean- <br />up of any spills of gasoline or oil. In addition, an empry 55-gallon drum shall also be kept <br />on the site for disposal of useci absorbent. Instructions on responding to an accidental spill <br />shall be made available to all employees and shall be posted in visible locations. (Design <br />and Construction Standards and Specifications Manual) <br />44. Signs must be posted noting the location(s) of the pump, shut-off switch(es). (Design and <br />Construction Standards and Specifications Manual) <br />45. New tanlc installations and fueling areas must meet all applicable City standards current at <br />the time of submittal for Public Works permits. <br />
